Purchasing a monument can be a difficult process; a recent loss of a loved one or preparation for the future, all of the stones that leave our doors are made with the same care and craftsmanship.
We understand that everyone has their own personal taste and we work with our customers on all aspects of the design process. We enjoy sharing our expertise with our customers by guiding them as they make decisions about their future headstone; and in the end we want to share a monument that both our company and the customer is happy with for years to come.
Cleaning
Over time monuments become dirty. Depending on the type of stone, lichen
and moss can begin to work into the pores making the cleaning process much more difficult.
Using our experience and specialized commercial cleaners made specifically for the monument industry we can bring a gravestone back to life without damaging the stones integrity. We are able to clean a single headstone or clean an entire cemetery lot.
Restoration
Much of our ancestors can be found within historic cemeteries. As time moves forward these monuments are forgotten and become weathered, buried, or broken with age. Some are repairable, and others can not be fixed.
Here at Maine Monument Service we help preserve these cemeteries by reconstructing and cleaning these pieces of history. We have performed work on single stones and have even restored entire cemeteries throughout Midcoast, Maine.
Engraving
Adding a loved one to a monument at the time of death; or adding a name for the future is made possible by outside engraving. Using portable equipment we are able to perform work on the gravestone without removal.
With proper notice we try our hardest to complete the before an upcoming memorial service. We understand that some people travel great distances to attend a service for a family member or a friend. Engraving before the service allows family and friends to see the completed stone.
On larger family memorials we are also able to add full names for family members that want to be included on the monument. Adding more family members will be dependant on the available space on the monument.
