Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long will it take to complete my monument?

A: Depending on size, type of granite, type of engravings, and when ordered will all effect the finish date of the final product. We stay in close contact with our customers to keep them updated and to provide a satisfactory time frame for completion.

Q: How much will a monument cost?

A: The price of a monument varies depending on the type of stone you order, the size, and the amount of lettering involved.

Q: What color granite is available?

A: Granite color ranges from gray, green, pink, black and many more. These colors can be viewed in books or samples, but we suggest taking a walk through a local cemetery to find a color and shade that you like best.

Q: How do you clean stones?

A: Using our equipment and knowledge of different types of granite and marble we can determine which industrial cleaner will work best. We do not recommend that you clean monuments on your own as both granite and marble can fade, stain, or erode if the wrong cleaner is being applied and/or the cleaner is applied incorrectly.

Q: Do I need a concrete foundation installed?

A: Not all cemeteries require concrete foundations under the monuments. However we do strongly recommend that these foundations be installed. Over time monuments can sink, shift, or fall over due to the ground conditions. When we perform the work for foundations we are sure to dig below the frost line to help our monuments remain intact.

Q: Can I fit another stone on my cemetery lot?

A: Our philosophy is to plan ahead and this is what we tell our customers. For new lot owners planning is essential; the number of grave spaces and burials can all make a difference in the number of monuments/markers you can have. This is mostly dependent on cemetery rules and bylaws; but if a monument is purchased from us we will be glad to help you configure and plan ahead for future burials or monuments.

Q: Where can I find cemetery rules?

A: In most cases we already know the established rules for local cemeteries. However, in some cases we are not familiar with cemeteries and we recommend that you call the Town Office that serves the location of the cemetery.
